External solar controller for air conditioner

In our E-Hybrid solar air conditioning system, an external solar power controller is used, we call it E-Hybrid AC DC energy router. It can achieve one-multi drive and parallel expansion, so that the energy is not limited to a single air conditioner. It can comprehensively allocate energy for multiple air conditioners in a family, and can also be easily connected to a battery for off-grid operation.

Solar controller integrated options

For comparison, let’s first look at the differences between the solutions where the solar controller is installed in the air conditioner outdoor unit. In this type of solution, the MPPT and even the inverter are installed in the air conditioner outdoor unit, and the solar panels are directly connected to the outdoor unit.

Although the wiring is reduced once, the internal environment of the outdoor unit is bad, with the vibration of the compressor, and the temperature of nearly 60 degrees inside of the outdoor unit in hot weather, will cause the following problems:

  • The failure rate of electrical components increases, increasing maintenance costs;
  • If repairs are required, the outdoor unit must be opened for inspection and maintenance, which requires work at height and causes inconvenience;
  • The life of electrical components is shortened, increasing warranty costs.
  • The solar panel and the air conditioner are bound one-to-one, and energy cannot flow between the units;
  • The solar controller cannot be connected to the battery and cannot operate off the grid.

Why external solar controller for air conditioner?

Our E-Hybrid solar air conditioner uses an external solar controller, which is the result of comprehensive considerations in order to bring a better experience to users and to give the product more expansion options:

  • Without E-Hybrid solar controller, it is an ordinary air conditioner, with AC power input only.

The most important thing is, even the user don’t want to buy the solar panels and the E-Hybrid energy router, the air conditioner can be used as the ordinary air conditioners with AC power input only.

If there is no AC power, the air conditioner can be operated with solar power and battery coupled input, for off-grid operation.
